Bruins beat Capitals in overtime forcing a Game 7

Tyler Seguin scored in overtime, Tim Thomas made 36 saves from the goal, and the Boston Bruins conquered the Washington Capitals 4-3 on Sunday to tie the first-round Eastern Conference playoffs series at three games each. The defending Stanley Cup champion Bruins never trailed during the game, but needed a stolen pass and clever ice skating to finally get the decisive goal and avoid elimination by the seventh-seeded Capitals.

Seguin, who entered the game without a point in the series, was able to lift a shot past the Capitals’ previous game savior, goaltender Braden Holtby. The Bruins victory over the Capitals kept their bid to become the first team to win successive Stanley Cups alive since the Detroit Red Wings in 1997-98. Game 7 will be in Boston on Wednesday night.
