3 killed at university in Canada
At the University of Alberta in Edmonton in Canada, three people were killed and a fourth critically injured in a shooting early on Friday, police said. Scott Pattison, an Edmonton police spokesman, said robbery was likely the motive. The university’s emergency notice described the crime as an armored car robbery.
Police arrived to the campus and found three dead bodies and a fourth victim with life-threatening injuries. Pending notification of next of kin, police have not released the names of the victims. None of the victims were students, according to CNN affiliate CTV. Exams and other university business will proceed as scheduled, the university said.
