On Thursday two other teens were arrested and charged with first and second-degree murder in connection to the shooting death of 16-year-old Marcus Antonio Jones. Akil Darnell Ings of Suitland and 19-year-old Kquantae Fisher of Fort Washington are in custody and being held without bond.
Jones was shot and killed as he left a party in Fort Washington, MD in Prince George’s County has left residents and police questioning possible motives and suspects. Because of the timing and location of the shooting, police were begging witnesses to come forward, appealing to teens and their parents at a community meeting held at Friendly High School, where Jones was a student. There were accusations of gang activity at the high school, and calls for better protection for kids living the area and attending the school.
Jones was leaving an adult-supervised house party when several shots rang out. The party was planned and regulated, with guests required to show identification and some uninvited partygoers turned away. Police involved in the case insist that there are people in the community who have more details and implore them to come forward. They are currently seeking a third suspect.
