An early morning house fire kills one person and critically injures a second in Northwest D.C. According to D.C. Fire and EMS, the fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. Monday at a row house near Tubman Elementary. The tragic incident had occurred at the 1000 block of Kenyon Street. The two people involved were transported to local the hospital with life-threatening injuries and one did not survive. The second victim remains in critical condition. Three firefighters suffered from minor injuries in the two-alarm blaze, which spread to two adjoining row houses. Three families and nine people were displaced by the fire, which is currently under investigation. No further details have been released.
