YouTube releases new short video app
YouTube creators Steve Chen and Chad Hurley unveiled the new short video app, MixBit on Thursday, which allows users to shoot short videos up to 16 seconds in length. MixBit videos uploaded to the internet can then be edited together with other short videos to create a new longer video. In a blog post, Hurley commented, “we want to remove the barriers to video creation.”
The Web version and app version of MixBit for Apple devices, is currently online. Quick video editing software has recently become popular with users often relying on Vine, which is owned by Twitter, and Instagram by Facebook. Vine creates 6 second videos while Instagram allows videos to last 15 seconds.
