Student charged with Arson at University

A student at Christopher Newport University faces arson charges related to a number of fires set in four campus buildings. University and state officials arrested 20-year-old Davant Marshall on Wednesday. Marshall is currently being held in the Newport News Jail on five counts of arson.

The fires occurred on Tuesday in numerous buildings, but no major damage was reported. The university has placed Marshall on interim suspension, and classes resumed on Wednesday after being cancelled all of Tuesday.
