Roseanne Barr announces she is going blind

Actress and comedian Roseanne Barr has recently revealed that she is slowly going blind. In an interview with The Daily Beast, 62-year-old Barr stated that she has been diagnosed with macular degeneration and glaucoma and told the website, “My vision is closing in now.” Barr added that she has been self-medicating with marijuana, and that the drugs are helping her with the associated pains and discomfort she is experiencing. Physicians have not given Barr a definitive timeline on when she can expect to lose all visibility. Barr began her career in stand-up comedy at clubs (in the early and mid-1980’s), before gaining fame for her lead role in the comedy sitcom “Roseanne.” The show was a smash hit and lasted nine seasons, from 1988 to 1997. She earned an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her work on the show.
