Nike ends relationship with Livestrong

Nike is ending any connection it has with Livestrong following the most recent drug scandal surrounding the cancer charity’s founder, Lance Armstrong. Livestrong officials released the news on Tuesday that the apparel company and the charity will be going separate ways after nine years together building Livestrong into a well-known global brand.

The relationship between the companies was jeopardized when it was revealed that Armstrong had been using performance-enhancing drugs along with members of the U.S. Postal Service team. Nike then responded by ending their sponsorship of Armstrong in October 2012. Armstrong admitted to using the drugs earlier in the year. Armstrong no longer has any connection with Nike or Livestrong.
