When Tech. Sgt. Hugh Moore was killed in action in 1944, his parents put a headstone on an empty plot. Moore, then 36, was killed when his plane was shot down over Papua New Guinea, and his body was not recovered. In September of this year, the Pentagon announced that his remains had been discovered and released them to the family. Moore was buried Tuesday with full military honors in Cherry Hill Methodist Church Cemetery, at a ceremony attended by dozens of his family. Tuesday was Veterans day, when the nation remembers the ceasefire of WWI, and all those who have given their lives in military service.
