MARYLAND NEWS – Columbia, Maryland man charged with murder of his grandparents

A man native to Columbia, Maryland has been charged with the murders of his grandparents. He was charged after the two were found shot dead inside their home early Monday morning according to the police report. The Howard County police report states that 33-year-old DiAngelo Smith has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and other charges in the deaths of 78-year-old Jack Stokes and 65-year-old Barbara Stokes. The police said they were living together in the home where they were found fatally shot just after 3 A.M. on Monday morning. 

When officers arrived on the scene, police said they encountered Smith with a gun in a vehicle parked outside the home where he was taken into custody. Police have yet to provide more details regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Smith is being held without bail at the detention center in Howard County as is waiting to stand trial on murder charges.
