A Frederick man faces up to 20 years in federal prison for defrauding the Special Olympics, the National Wildlife Federation, and other clients.

Stephen Reid could be fined up to $250,000 at his sentencing on Friday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore.

Reid pleaded guilty in April for conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud resulting in $630,000 of losses for his clients.

According to prosecutors, the National Wildlife Federation lost more than $78,000 in the scheme and the Special Olympics lost nearly $11,000.

Other defrauded companies include the American Health Assistance Foundation, the Arthritis Foundation, and the American Institute for Cancer Research.
