Indictment returned for Boston Marathon bombing suspect
A 30-count indictment was returned to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev by a federal grand jury on Friday, alleging he used a weapon of mass destruction. According to U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz, Tsarnaev has been charged with killing three spectators of the marathon as well as a police officer who was attacked a few days later. 264 people were injured in the bombings.
The charges against Tsarnaev include using a weapon of mass destruction resulting in death and conspiracy, bombing in a place of public use resulting in death and conspiracy, and malicious destruction of property. The indictment also lists the alleged amount of planning which went into the attacks.
