Former DC Councilmember Carol Schwartz running for mayor

Former D.C. Councilmember Carol Schwartz has announced Monday that she plans to run for mayor. “In the five and a half years since I have been out of elected office, my name has not been in the paper that much nor should it be; but whenever it is, I am often referred to as the “perennial mayoral candidate,” she stated. Twelve years after she first ran for mayor, Schwartz stated she is ready to run for The District of Colombia mayor again, during her candidacy announcement. She began her first term on the D.C council during the eighties and remained there until 2009.
