Former candidate for Alexandria’s city council found not guilty of impersonating officer

A man formerly in the running for Alexandria’s city council was found guilty of flashing a weapon while a case was being dismissed against him for impersonating an officer.

Charges were brought against Scott Gordon following a dispute in September after he parked in a loading zone.

The court handed down a 30-day suspended sentence to Gordon on Monday.  In that time, he is instructed to surrender his gun and avoid any altercations with law enforcement.

Gordon relinquished his city council bid last year.
