Forbes: Kristen Stewart highest paid actress
“The Twilight Saga’s” Kristen Stewart is now the highest-paid actress on the Forbes.com annual list. Stewart shot to fame in 2008 as Bella Swan in “The Twilight Saga.” The 22-year-old California-native earned an estimated $34.5 million from May 2011 to May 2012 replacing Angelina Jolie as the highest-paid actress. Forbes.com compiled the list and estimated salaries by talking to agents, managers and lawyers and based earnings on pay, profits, residuals, endorsements and advertising work. Cameron Diaz, who starred in “Bad Teacher,” earned $34 million placing her second on the list. Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock came third with $25 million and Jolie dropped to the fourth spot with an earning of $20 million.
Forbes.com shows the top 10 actresses earning a lot less than the 10-highest-earning male actors. Together, the women earned a total of $200 million, while the men earned $361 million. According to Forbes’ Los Angeles bureau chief Dorothy Pomerantz “It will be a while until women see salary parity, if it ever happens. Women are paid less in every industry, not just in Hollywood.”
