The team behind popular Virginia fine dining spot Restaurant Eve is looking to make its move to the D.C. area. Chef Cathal Armstrong and Eat Good Food Group are in negotiations to open a restaurant at The Wharf, the gigantic new waterfront property in Southwest D.C. The restaurant opening would be some years away, probably not until 2018. The concept would be Asian themed, the tasting menu leaning heavily on the cuisine of the Phillipines, along with other Asian cooking. As far as decor goes, Armstrong stated that he envisions a space with waterfront, outdoor dining where he could stage an elaborate Asian style barbecue. Few restaurants have been announced for The Wharf at this time, but the developer of the project, Hoffman-Madison Waterfront LLC, is currently pursuing deals with multiple celebrity chefs and restaurateurs.
