Just three years after Tom Cruise flew into the Cannes Film Festival with “Top Gun: Maverick”, he will return in “Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning.” The organizers of the Cannes Film Festival announced on Tuesday that “Final Reckoning” will be screened at the 78th edition of Cannes on May 14, ahead of the release of the film in theaters. Cruise, writer-director Christopher McQuarrie, and the cast will attend the screening at the Palais des Festivals.
This will be Cruise’s third time with a film at Cannes, but it will be his first film after the 2022 release of “Top Gun: Maverik”. The lineup for this year’s Cannes will be running from May 13th to 24th and will be unveiled on Thursday in Paris. On Monday, the festival announced Robert De Niro will receive an honorary Palme d’Or at the opening ceremony on May 13th.
