Dupont Circle gets hand-knit valentines from museum

A neighborhood in the District’s Dupont Circle woke up to a happy Valentine’s Day surprise from the Phillips Collection Museum. The museum partnered with the local knitting store, Looped Yarn Works, to create dozens of hand-knit hearts that will decorate trees and buildings. Dupont Circle may display the hand-knit valentine hearts throughout the week.

The Phillips Collection is also celebrating an artist, Alyson Shotz, by opening her large-scale yarn-and-nail installations. The exhibit will open on Thursday and will be part of a contemporary art series at the museum.
