DC ambulance called to White House runs out of gas
According to the D.C. Fire Department, an ambulance was taken out of service while running to the White House because it ran out of gas.
The ambulance was left behind on the South Lawn when a motorcade left on Thursday.
Tim Wilson, a D.C. Fire Department spokesperson, said on Monday that the first-due medical responder to the White House ran out of gas, but another unit replaced it.
Usually, an ambulance titled “Medic 1” responds to executive mansion emergency calls, and travels with the presidential motorcade.
An internal investigation is underway to determine whether the vehicle was properly fueled. Wilson says he does not know of any previously reported fuel gauge problem.
