D.C. teacher pleads guilty to receiving child porn

According to a news release, a former teacher at Washington’s McKinley Tech High School pleaded guilty on Wednesday to receiving child pornography.

John Solano, 30, was arrested in March after engaging in inappropriate and sexually explicit text messages with a 16-year-old student authorities say. During their text messaging, Solano received pornographic images from the student.

Solano will be sentenced on Oct. 2. He faces up to 20 years in prison and $250,000 in fines.

Court documents say Solano told authorities that he had sent sexually explicit text messages to about 10 students during his career.
