Boston Marathon bomber on the cover of Rolling Stone
Controversy brews as the Rolling Stone cover story on the Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev becomes more widespread.
The magazine cover displays a photo of Tsarnaev looking well kempt and sophisticated, almost like one of the rock stars Rolling Stone usually covers. A preview of the story says it traces how “a bright kid with a charming future became a monster.”
Some readers are appalled by the cover and are calling the photo disgraceful; others are calling for a boycott of the magazine.
Tsarnev has pleaded not guilty in the bombings at the Boston Marathon finish line, which took place on April 15. The bombings killed three and wounded more than 260.
