Bonds wins D.C. Council seat
On Tuesday, interim Councilmember Anita Bonds won a special election for the D.C. Council seat. Bonds won with 32 percent of the vote in a six-candidate field.
Bonds was a major aid to former mayor and current Councilmember Marion Barry, she also works for Fort Myer Construction Corp., a major city contractor. Bonds has been on the council in interim capacity since December, she was appointed to fill vacancies by the D.C. Democratic State Committee.
