American League wins All-Stars

The American League defeated the National League to win the MLB All-Star game with a score of 3-0. Pitcher Mariano Rivera also became the first reliever to be named MVP after pitching a perfect eighth inning.

The first inning became heated after National League pitcher Matt Harvey’s first pitch was hit by Mike Trout, earning the American League a double. Harvey then hit Robinson Cano in the knee with another pitch.
