Actor Jim Kelly dies
“Enter the Dragon” actor Jim Kelly has died at the age of 67. Kelly acted alongside Bruce Lee.
Kelly died of cancer on Saturday at his home in San Diego. He became known for his one-liners and fight scenes in the 1973 martial arts film. Kelly later went on to act in “Three the Hard Way”, “Black Belt Jones”, and “Black Samurai.”
Kelly began studying martial arts in 1964; he continued on to move to California and eventually earn a black belt in karate. After winning multiple karate tournaments, Kelly aspired to become an actor. He also played football in college.
Kelly’s role alongside Bruce Lee was his second, which he described as one of the best experiences of his life. After his acting career tapered off, he went on to attract crowds by signing autographs at comic book conventions.
