Nine-time Olympic gold medalists Carl Lewis has a final chance to get back on the New Jersey ballot for the state’s Senate election. The effort was previously denied to him when a judge last week said he did not meet the state’s four-year residency requirement. Lewis’ lawyers are scheduled to argue his case on Tuesday.
Lewis would run as a Democrat, challenging Republican incumbent Dawn Addiego. Lewis had grown up in New Jersey but settled in California for part of his life. He owns homes in both state, and pays taxes and utilities for both.
