NATIONAL NEWS – Sen. Bob Menendez corruption trial begins

Sen. Bob Menendez, D-NJ, corruption trial began Monday. Menendez and his wife are accused of accepting bribes in exchange for interfering with criminal investigations.

In January, Menendez said, “I’m innocent – and I intend to prove my innocence, not just for me, but for the precedent this case will set for you and future members of the Senate.” Menendez and his wife are being tried separately. His wife, Nadine Menendez, trial is scheduled to begin on July 8.
