Palestinian-American Tawfic Hafeth Abdel Jabbar, 17, was fatally shot in the occupied West Bank by an Israeli settler and an Israel Defense Soldier. Jabbar was out for a picnic with friends when the settler opened fire, followed by an off-duty police officer, according to a report that the Israel Defense Forces received.
“My son is an American before Palestinian,” said Jabbar’s father, Hafeth Abdel Jabbar. “He was born in the U.S. On his passport, [it]says ‘We will protect you. We will protect you and bring you justice.’ Where’s my son’s justice?” The U.S. State Department has called for an investigation by the government of Israel.
