Trump responds to Orlando shooting in fiery speech
Donald Trump responded Monday to the Orlando shooting with a speech attacking Muslims and Hillary Clinton, and with little regard for the facts. Trump claimed Clinton wanted to disarm Americans and insinuated that the gunman in the Orlando attack was a foreigner. He also renewed his call for a ban on all Muslim migration into the United States, vowing to impose such a system if elected president. “The current politically correct response cripples our ability to talk and to think and act clearly,” Trump said at Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. “If we don’t get tough, and if we don’t get smart, and fast, we’re not going to have our country anymore. There will be nothing, absolutely nothing, left.”

‘ALF’ actor dies at 76
According to friend and manager Dennis Verga, the actor who played ‘ALF’ in the popular sitcom, Michu Meszaros, had died. Meszaros had a stroke last Thursday and had been hospitalized since. He died Sunday night at 76-years-old. Meszaros portrayed the alien “ALF,” and wore a full-body suit. “ALF” was voiced by another actor, Paul Fusco. The TV series ran on NBC for four seasons. Meszaros also appeared on the TV series “Dear John” and “H.R Pufnstuf,” along with small roles in the movie “Look Who’s Talking” and “Big Top Pee-Wee.”

Prince George Co. prepares for Metro commuting delays
Major Metrorail delays are expected in Prince George’s County and Northeast D.C. because of Metro’s SafeTrack maintenance plan. The Metrorail will shut down from Easter Market to Benning Road from June 18 to July 3, and will affect the Orange, Blue and Silver lines. This will be the second of 15 work surges that are planned over 10 months. “Surge 2 is going to be much different than Surge 1. Surge 1 has primarily been single tracking. Surge 2 will be a complete closure,” said Darryl Mobley, director of Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation. The first surge will start on Saturday and the first day of the second surge is Monday, June 20.

Former assistant principal sentenced for having sex with student
A former assistant principal from Hanover County has been sentenced for having sex with a high school student. Fifty-two-year-old Michael Carr Teegarden was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Monday. Teegarden pleaded guilty to four counts of indecent liberties with a minor by a custodian for having sex with a 16-year-old student multiple times. Teegarden, who is already in prison for child pornography convictions, will only serve a year and a half of the 20-year sentence in addition to the 4-year child pornography sentence he is currently serving. Teegarden was assistant principal and Lee-Davis High School from July 1998 to June 2000, during which the sex offenses against the teen occurred in 1999 and 2000.

Officer trial defense team to review information from state
The defense team for 46-year-old Caesar Goodson who is on trial for the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray will review information that the state was forced to turn over and will decide whether to file motions. Goodson is charged with second-degree murder for the fatal injuries that Gray sustained while in the back of the police wagon that Goodson was driving. Circuit Judge Barry Williams admonished the state for failing to disclose information to the defense that could be considered helpful to them. He gave them until Monday to produce the information and on Monday prosecutors presented a packet. Testimony will continue Tuesday.
