Man convicted of quadruple shootings

55-year-old Charles Severance was convicted on Monday of fatally shooting three Virginia residents and wounding one. Severance, whose journal depicting his violent thoughts was previously shown to the jury, has had a history of erratic behavior. The victims were Nancy Dunning, the wife of a former Alexandria sheriff; Ron Kirby, a transportation planner; and Ruthanne Lodato, a music teacher. They were reportedly murdered due to Severance’s grudge against the city. Severance’s father has expressed his sympathies to the victims’ families.
