Five million immigrants to be protected under executive orders

President Obama will announce this week that he is to shield millions of undocumented immigrants from deportation, reports say. Obama will issue executive orders to cover 4 million undocumented immigrants eligible for deferred deportation and a further 1 million through other processes. Deferred deportation eligibility is based on terms such as the length of time resident in the U.S. and family ties to the country. The executive orders will be announced at an event in Las Vegas, Nevada, Friday.
