Officers of the DC Police Department may begin wearing small cameras on duty as soon as October 1, 2014, says Gwendolyn Crump, chief spokeswoman for the D.C. police department. This news comes after the department in Laurel, Maryland, implemented the technology last year. Large cities like New York and Los Angeles began tests in their police forces last week and earlier in the year, respectively. DC Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier first proposed the idea in January of this year.
