Chris Brown trial to being on Monday

Monday marks the start date for the assault trial of singer Chris Brown, after a brief court appearance on Friday. Not only is Brown facing up to six months in jail, but if convicted, he could face additional penalties including jail time as a result of an earlier case in California. At the time Brown was arrested in Washington, he was on probation in Los Angeles for an attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna, in 2009. He then entered anger management rehab in a California facility, but was dismissed in mid-March for violating its rules. Brown was then jailed and has been in custody ever since.
