U.S. library hosting open house for Presidents Day
The Library of Congress will be hosting an open house of the Main Reading Room for a presidential display in honor of President’s Day and to show the public how they can access the library’s resources. The reading room will be open on Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the President’s Day holiday. Reference librarians will be showing visitors how to acquire registration cards and use the library’s services. There will also be a special display featuring items from the first three U.S. presidents. In the Young Readers Center there will be activities for children including presidential trivia and reading famous speeches by presidents. There will also be guided tours of the library’s historic Thomas Jefferson Building offered throughout the day. All other reading rooms and buildings will be closed for the holiday.
