A Maryland woman received a life sentence plus 40 years for hiring a hit-man to kill her husband.
Karla Porter received her sentence Monday which includes no possibility of parole.
Porter, who was convicted in August of first-degree murder, hired Walter Bishop Jr. to kill her husband William Ray Porter. The exchange took place at her family’s Hess gas station in Towson.
Bishop is now serving a life sentence.
Porter’s attorney claimed she had been abused by her husband and plotted the murder in self-defense.
