Son of former DC mayor faces drug charges

The son of former Washington Mayor Marion Barry has a court date in November to answer charges in Virginia for driving under the influence and being in possession of marijuana.

Records in Hampton General District Court show that 33-year-old Marion Christopher Barry was arrested earlier this month. Reports say that Barry was arrested after being seen driving erratically.

Barry also received a nine-month suspended sentence in September 2011 on charges of possessing marijuana and PCP.

Barry’s father is now a district councilman.
