CSX train kills 2 people walking on tracks
Two people were killed by a train while walking on the tracks Wednesday night in Montgomery County.
According to Montgomery County police, two people were walking on the tracks near the Garrett Park MARC station just after 11 p.m. when they were struck by the CSX train.
The county’s Emergency Communications Center was notified, and two men were found dead on the tracks when police arrived to the scene. Police say the train conductor saw the two men on the tracks, braked, and sounded the horn before hitting them. The deaths are being investigated as accidents.
The victims have been identified as 20-year-old Elvin Rojas and 19-year-old Alejandro Uribe.
