Labor Department lawyer allegedly killed self with razor

According to reports, a Labor Department lawyer who died in jail this week slashed his throat with a razor.

Paul Mannina, 58, was found dead on Tuesday in his jail cell hours after a court hearing. A judge ordered that he remain jailed even though lawyers argued that he needed mental health treatment.

Authorities are still investigating how Mannina obtained the razor, but they believe he may have tampered with jail-issued razors.

A respected lawyer, Mannina faced charges of first-degree assault with a weapon as well as third-degree sexual assault for the attack of a co-worker earlier this month.
