Biden to show gun control progress

On Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden will reveal a progress report which shows the country is making good progress on their gun control goals. After the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut last December, President Obama attempted to control the threat of gun violence by issuing 23 directives. According to the report, 21 of the 23 directives were completed or the administration has made considerable progress.

Most of the directives are administrative steps which do not require approval from Congress. The Justice Department also suggested a new rule which would allow law enforcement officials to run a full background check on the owners of firearms examined in investigations.
