6 injured, pedestrian pinned in car crash

Six people were injured after a car crash occurred near Union Station Wednesday morning.

The crash happened close to 8 a.m. at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and North Capitol Street NW. An SUV tried to beat a stoplight and struck a pole as well as three pedestrians.

Reports state that one pedestrian was pinned under the SUV, another was lying in the street, and the third was on the sidewalk. The vehicle also struck another car, increasing the injured persons to six. Two pedestrians were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
