NBC to air documentary about Valerie Harper

Valerie Harper has agreed to give a first-person account of her battle with terminal cancer in an NBC News documentary.

Meredith Vieira will host the documentary, which will air during prime time. No airdate has been scheduled.

Harper became known for her role as Rhoda Morgenstern on the TV show “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”. Harper announced earlier this year that she had been diagnosed with brain cancer. She was given three months to live, which she has already exceeded since being diagnosed on March 6th.

Harper, 73, has allowed cameras to follow her since her diagnosis.
