Pedestrian killed after car crash

On Tuesday, a state trooper driving on I-83 witnessed a speeding vehicle come up behind him. The trooper let the vehicle pass, which allowed the vehicle to exit onto Pleasant St,

After exiting, the car continued to run a red light and overturned while trying to turn in front of City Hall. The vehicle struck 45-year-old Matthew Hershl, who died at Shock Trauma Center.

The driver was taken into custody and charges are expected to be filed.
