Maryland senate takes up gun bill
Senate president Thomas V. Mike Miller announced that two assemblies will be held on Thursday in order to process a bill on gun control.
Over a month ago, the senate passed the beginnings of a gun control bill, which the House of Delegates passed on Wednesday. The Senate must now approve of the changes made by the House before it is sent to Gov. Martin O’Malley.
The bill would ban assault weapons and would require the buyers of handguns to be fingerprinted.
