New license plates to be sported on presidential motorcade
Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton expressed her gratification for the White House’s agreement to place new “Taxation without Representation” license plates on the presidential limousine before the inauguration. She acknowledged that although the DC Vote petition did not meet the standard amount of 25,000 signatures for the plates, the White House took action anyway, symbolizing the president’s support of Washington D.C. voters as well as Home Rule and budget autonomy.
These license plates will remain on President Obama’s motorcade in order to express his full support of the representation of D.C. voters.
