Norfolk’s Community Service Board official indicted

61-year-old Brenda Wise was indicted on embezzlement charges this past Wednesday. As a former Norfolk Community Services Board administrator, Wise took over for Director of Administration Jill McGlone, who has been suspended from the company for 12 years. McGlone continued to collect benefits and pay, and so did Wise also. A grand jury stated that Wise had the option to either decline administrative pay, reinstate McGlone, or terminate McGlone’s employment altogether, but Wise did none of the above. If sentenced, Wise could face up to 10 years in prison and over $100,000 in fines.
