Justin Bieber visits child cancer patient
Seven-year-old Millie Flamm was heart broken when her family was forced to sell their tickets to a Justin Bieber concert in Salt Lake City after it was determined she would have to be admitted to the hospital to be treated for a leukemia relapse. However, when Bieber’s fan base, known as “Beliebers,” got wind of the young girl’s story, they quickly put together a campaign to encourage him to pay Flamm a visit. On Saturday evening, Bieber did just that. He walked into Primary Children’s Medical Center and spent some one-on-one time with his young fan.
“All of a sudden it pulled through and we were able to do a really intimate little meeting with just her and us and Justin, and it was incredible and he was so sweet to her,” said Millie’s mother Amanda Flamm. “He walked in and her whole face just lit up, and she turned around and hugged her dad, and then he ran over and came next to her and gave her a big hug.”
“He came in and was so loving towards her and gave her all the attention,” said family friend Mary Ann Horne, who was present for the visit. “The look on her face, I’ve never seen anything like that. I had to turn away because I started crying.”
Bieber played Millie’s favorite song, “Baby,” for her on his guitar. He even gave her his guitar pick. “She is squeezing onto it with all her might and will not let it go,” Millie’s mom said. At one point Bieber gave Millie a kiss on her cheek, after which Millie turned to her mother and said “You are never going to wash my face again.”
“[The meeting] has re-energized all of us,” said Amanda Flamm, adding that the whole family is now “ready to keep going and fight harder with all this backing and this fun thing that has happened today, and keep going and keep fighting.”
