Tom Hanks discusses new film, “Cloud Atlas”

By all accounts “Cloud Atlas” promises to be a thought provoking and intricate film. The upcoming movie is based on a novel and features actors who each take on different races and even different genders during the course of the storyline. What’s more, the story takes place across a range of different eras; past, present, and future. Actor Tom Hank however, who stars in the film, believes it will  not be incomprehensible to the attentive observer, and offered fans a little hint. “Even before the opening credits say ‘Cloud Atlas,'” said Hanks, “…Timothy Cavendish explains the movie in one line.” But Hanks doesn’t us in suspense and elaborated further. “I found it actually gave a language o the connections we all have with each other,” Hanks explained, “what ‘Cloud Atlas’ is all about [is] individual people have to make this decision between cruelty and kindness, someone has to go against a mindless version of the status quo, and it’s this idea that great acts of kindness last forever and reverberate through eternity.”
