EPA grants Maryland Coastal Bays Program $173K

The United States Environment Protection Agency said it is granting $173,400 to the Maryland Coastal Bays Program for students on the Eastern Shore to pursue environmental careers. The EPA announced the award on Friday at a youth summit in Ocean City.

The funds will be allocated to education, research, and career-based activities focusing on green infrastructure. This includes marine and science programs, internships, and environmental stewardship programs. According to the EPA, the award increases EPA funding for the initiative to more than $600,000.
