Cruise-Holmes reach divorce settlement

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise and actress Katie Holmes settled their speedy divorce on Monday with Holmes winning the custody battle for daughter Suri. The 33-year-old “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark” actress originally filed for sole custody, though she received primary legal custody of 6-year-old Suri. According to a source “Katie was really smart about how she did this … Tom will be allowed to see Suri but there are guidelines for the visits.” The source also revealed that “Tom is really sad at the thought of not being able to see Suri … You can tell he really loves his kids.” The “Mission: Impossible” actor is also a father to Connor, 17, and Isabella, 19, from his previous marriage with actress Nicole Kidman.

Prior to reaching an agreement Monday, the 50-year-old Cruise and his now ex-wife issued a joint statement, assuring fans their sole focus during discussions was on doing what’s best for Suri. “We are committed to working together as parents to accomplishing what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests,” Cruise and Holmes said. “We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”
