On July 30, Grand Prix organizers in Baltimore plan to begin construction on the event’s racetrack. According to The Daily Record of Baltimore, the 12 turn, two-mile circuit will be complete in 32 days with crews working through the late hours of the night.
Tony Cotman, the president of the Indianapolis-based race circuit design and event management company, will be in charge of the racetrack construction. Cotman said nearly a dozen people will work on the circuit from about 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The majority of the track’s production will take place 22 days before the event, which is scheduled to run from August 31 to September 2.
