MTV Movie Awards: “The Hunger Games” wins big

Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards show brought instant chuckles among celebrity attendees as English actor and host of the evening, Russell Brand, opened the night with a quip alluding to his former wife, Katy Perry.

“The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” won Movie of the Year, while “The Hunger Games’” Jennifer Lawrence took home the golden popcorn for Best Female Performance and her co-star Josh Hutcherson won Best Male Performance. “The Hunger Games” also collected awards for Best On-Screen Transformation and Best Fight. But the highest honor went to Johnny Depp, who was awarded the MTV Generation Award, presented to him by Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.
